"Which part of the atom lets the electricity flow through?" asked a 9 year old during the September's edition of the "Muslim Role Model" lecture held today at Al Qamar Academy. Abu Ateeq, a parent was invited to speak.

Br Abu Ateeq did his Engineering and then started working in IT. He talked about his early childhood in a small village where they didn't have any electricity. He went on to introduce the concept of Electricity in a novel format of having the children ask him questions to which he supplied answers. Questions flowed - "Why do we get a shock?", "Why don't we get a shock when we touch switches" "Can you see an atom?".  Kids were very excited about the session. Some are already pondering about how to make a dynamo at home!! Br Ateeq has kindly consented to lead to experiment sessions over the next few weeks to give the children a hands on understanding of the concept of Electricity.
