Young Turks of Al Qamar

MashaAllah a lovely geography lesson today! The kids got to wear a real Fez cap, feel Turkish liras and kurus, and see lovely picture postcards from Turkey with breathtaking pictures of the Blue Mosque, Sophia Mosque, the Bosphorus, and Topkapi palace. All these items were freshly gifted to Al Qamar by Mr. Shah, a well wisher who had recently travelled to Turkey.  One of the children who had been to Turkey last year talked about some of the pictures - the museum in the palace, the river and the mosques - how the Blue mosque was so beautiful inside. The children loved the pictures of the jewel encrusted artifacts, and were tickled with the idea that Turkish people also ate kababs! The boys all tried on the Fez cap and felt very cool! Alhamdulillah experiences like this broaden a child's mind, even if he hasn't been able to leave the boundaries of his city!
